The Skies Above New Zealand!

For some reason I spend a lot more time looking at the sky here in New Zealand, I don't think the sunsets are necessarily any more spectacular than in Australia, but I spend a lot of time observing them.

What is different to Brisbane is the fogs, the morning mists and the low lying cloud banks.

Here are some photos of New Zealand's amazing skies!

Nuts!!!

Living healthy over here is a lot more expensive, the brand of milk we bought in Australia (lactose free) was around $2.50 litre, and here is $4.00 / litre.

Fruit out of season is insane, the worst I saw was a rockmelon for $10.00. Yes... seriously, one, single, rockmelon.

We love Watermelon as well - coming from Queensland, and when it first came in season it was $3.50 a kilo... we still bought it as we had been missing it so much.

One day I served some up to one of the kids friends, who was born here, and they commented " wow, we hardly ever have watermelon".

One thing that has quite surprised me though, has been the price of nuts. I'm used to Almonds being moderate, Cashews more expensive and Pistachios ridiculous, and being bought only as a treat.

Over here, Almonds are the most expensive by a hair - no I don't know whose hair, and perhaps they would be cheaper if they took it out ;)

Stonehenge Aotearoa in Video

Here is a little video view of Stonehenge Aotearoa, including a 360 degree view from the obelisk in the centre. The background and the scenery was truly astounding.
